Maybe Indians don't have balls, but there is something called cultural exchange which every country share with each another. Now if SRK decides that US immigration has mistreated him and he decides not to enter US, world is not going to fall down. Recently I heard that HOLLYWOOD wants to come BOLLYWOOD to make investments, maybe out of bussiness sense HOLLYWOOD should support SRK. One of the things that I've observed about these 'IBO's is that most often they are underachievers in general. Mostly staying home over the weekends, hardly any communication skills, no good friends (no your IBO partners are not your friends), low confidence and plain arrogance. They are asked not to take NO for an answer. So anything that you say against them annoys the hell outta them. I know I should not be using such derogatory language against any person but I seriously feel this corporation is plaguing our society big time.
I have a co-worker who downs at least 5-6 cans of their flagship product 'XS Energy Drink' everyday. He hardly moves from his desk all day so why in the world would he need an energy drink for? One day, the rest of the team confronted him and asked him if he even knew what was in the energy drink. He quickly got angry and snapped back "VITAMINS!!!". We were like WTF? Since when did energy drinks started to have vitamins in them? Finally, I showed him the contents of the drink: #1 Taurine, #2 Caffeine. So it's nothing but fukking Red Bull. And we all know 'Red Bull gives you wings!'. Wish it gave you brains too.
Another co-worker asked him if it'd be OK to give that drink to his 5 yo when he thought that it was alright for him to gulp gallons of it. He snapped again saying "OF COURSE! In fact she drinks small quantities of it everyday." A 5 year old kid drinking Red Bull. Can you beat that? Just coz this idiot wants to earn more points. That is when I got seriously pissed!
Is it true that this guys makes his 5 year old kid drink something like Red Bull everyday? If it is true, that is inhuman and child abuse. I can't believe it. Can people go this low for money? Unbelievable.

I have been saying this for the past one year, let us forget everything else, let us not come up with new rules or ideas or suggestions (new quotas, fraud detection, sue USCIS fund, exteneded APs etc). Focus all our energies on the one issue that will help everyone from all affected countries....Recapture of Unused Visas.
Recapture campaign will not divide us in EB 1 Vs 2 Vs 3 or countries. Over the past year a number of people have quit because of the bickering.
Recapture has a precedent because it was approved by Clinton earlier.
Recapture is free of country caps and it does not affect the existing visas. Murthy's article mentions that 120k are stuck in limbo and we know that there are around 400k visas available...i dont know what more motivation people need to fight for this issues.
On our own each one of us can do the following:
a) Try to arrange a meeting with your congressman and senators
b) write a letter to all members of the Judicary committee
after that do whatever IV tells you to do
can somebody summarise it and make a action plan

In my humble opinion this is the best thing that could have happened!!! I feel bad for Mr. Khan suffering like a common man for a while but his suffering brought to light what we have to deal with every time we travel... ace

I've been pulled aside once, in the nearly 7 years I've lived here. I've never had to go through any sort of 'suffering' -- nobody humiliated, beat me up or threw me in some dungeon, and likewise with any of my friends (and I have friends of different nationalities and religion)
I was asked the routine stuff - why I'm visiting the US - who I work for, where I live, how long have I been in the US and if I have family here. They asked, I respond - and that was that. The tone wasn't the most cordial nor was it demeaning. It's not a popularity contest. The key is to not take things personally. I have a lot of respect for President Kalam. He sure did Indians and people in general, proud. Now, please, give it a rest.

The argument that EB2-1 PD will retrogress to 2002 or 2004 does not seem to be based on numbers, but a random speculation. Doesn't not undermine vdlrao's projections in a credible way
Spillover may not be there, or may be there but when the new quota opens up October 1st, new minimum numbers will be available for EB2-I. Worst case scenario, dates will remain static or very minimal backward movement. It looks like the black hole is the time between late 2004 and early 2005, pre-PERM.Other than saying there is massive inventory of backlogged cases, Ron has not given better/ actual numbers of likely pending EB-2 I cases.
Next years numbers are not consequential to EB2I movement to be honest. Any realistic movement will depend on spillover. Consider that EB2I is statutorily limited to about 2800 visas(inclusive of family members) without spillover. Whereas spillover has the potential to contribute tens of thousands of visas.

Finally he got what he deserved..I wish that US won't deport him..He should spend rest of his life in Federal Prison only.If he goes back to india(AP)..he will open one more company and do the same things.His uncle is famous telugu actor and was a member of parliament also..so he will get all the help he needs.I pray to god that he should be in US federal Prision for rest of his life...

For 2007 we had an availability of 226,000 Family Based Visas. But the issued visas in 2007 in Family Based are 194,900 visas. That means there are 226,000 MINUS 194,900 = 31100. These 31,100
unused Family Based Visas have been made available for 2008 Employment Based Visas of 140,000. And USCIS has 28,795 unused VISAS of American Competitiveness in the 21st Century Act of 2000 (AC21).
American Competitiveness in the 21st Century Act of 2000 (AC21) had recaptured 130,107 visas.
Out of that 94,000 were used in 2005.
7,312 were used in 2007.
So dont know when the available 28,795 unused VISAS of AC21 will be used again.
The unused family based visas of 2007 are 31,100 , which are going to be added for Employement Based Visas of 2008. So the total Employment based visas for 2008 are 140,000 + 31,100 = 171,100.
Theses 171,100 EB Visas of 2008 will be split like, asuming USCIS is not using the availble 28,795 unused VISAS of AC21 below.
(If USCIS decides to use some or all of 28,795 unused VISAS of AC21, then the available Employment Based VISAS of 2008 increases accordingly. )
28.6 percent each EB1, EB2 and EB3. 48934 VISAS for Each Category.
And 7.1 percent each EB4 and EB5. 12148 VISAS for the last two EB categories.
