Isn�t the visa number limited to a upper threshold for each EB category for each country...How does these number move around between various countries....doesn�t that mean people from India and China (2 countries with most retrogression and paranoia) are looking at a very small number (~2K-4K) and not 40K in July?

Yes I agree.. But if they don't move date foward then they can't approve those backlog applications.And they don't want to loose 40,000 visas . Now when they made all date current, they can approve all those pending application which are complete and just waiting for date to become current. Now we don't know real number and don't know how long it will take USCIS to do all approvals. But if they approve 40,000 in 2 weeks, I won't be surprised if they make it 'U' like other workers.
But then question still remains why they made all current. They could have just moved it by year or so.. And I am sure they know how many application they can expect in July.. VDLRAO - You brought lot of valid points which supported by authentic statistics. But surprisingly Ron�s comment about the Aug bulletin is totally vague. You can throw the numbers to prove your claim but I don�t think Ron really has any such numerical explanation for his statement.

I agree with vdlrao completely. The horizontal spill over rule essentially gives all EB1/EB2 visa to EB2's. This will make the EB2 cutoff dates leap and bounce forward. For EB3, however, there won't be any spill over data until EB2 become all current.

There already exists an very small, unsuccesful org for just EB3 that core is aware of, and they consider IV as their competitors because
1. They do not understand and know nothing of how IV works (just like plainspeak)
2. They want to get donations and members away from IV and make money
These statements give her away. This is what they do try to pressurize IV to do their agenda. Enough said. Ignore the sales agent. They are trying to incite a fight between EB2 and EB3 just to split IV.

I am a simple person who does my job and helps people when i can and yes like every human i have ideas and hopes. Now when i get an idea about an invention i would go to the patents forum and when i get and idea about say investing i would go to an investing forum. Now when i got an idea related to immigration i have come to the forum which stands like a beacon for all immigration community or are you incapable of recognising the fact that that IV (and that means all you guys in in) is big hugh and was doing the right thing when no one else was.
Even now i do not think what IV is doing is wrong. I have differences with the outcome of their approach becasue i feel that this approach wil be bad for EB3. Out of all the people commenting out here there has been NOT even ONE person who has tried to understand the reason for why i feel EB3 is going to get in bad shape. Eb India has almost always got more than its statutory limit in the recent past. So to say that the new developments will give us 20 yrs worth of visas is not correct based on the events of recent years.
good point. AFAIK only once in the last 8 yaers did EB2 India really get limited to ~3k. Every year it has been nearly 10x that number. Its just htat this has all been formalized now by USCIS. There is no sudden 10X change in visa allocation that people will see...

You know what I used to think like this too.
President of India is put up in hotel and Saino&family in palace during Bhutan king coronation and they said Saino is personal guest of the royal family so may be that's ok.
Media on one hand calls this person homemaker (Priyanka Gandhi)and on the other hand reports that she is in Bangladesh having talks/dinner with Bangladesh PM with Bangladesh State providing security to her which looks like a official visit.Media doesn't mention in what nature is this offcial apart from NREG stuff which looks very fishy.
Just after UPA came to power Sonia goes to Russia in Reliance plane to meet with Putin.
I tried to find out why Sonia is in Russia but almost all the papers were excited about the reliance plane(could it be Anil's or Mukhesh's) but didn't say anything about Russia visit.I moved on and still don't what was it about though hoping it was something good for country and not revival of KGB connection(When U.S.S.R collapsed it was made public from KGB archive that Rajiv/Sonia were constant recipients of KGB money.?,it's anybody's guess ).

Most sickening part was UPA leaders only concentrated on abusing, denying and accusing. They never told the voters if they did any work in last 5 years. I know there wasn't a lot to tell but still the whole campaign is kind of useless...and the role of media is amazing, they just covered 5 people Maino Antonia, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Advani & Modi as if nobody else exist in the country. I guess many have mentioned this before.
Diversity should not be based on "country" as well. For example I can easily say that "India" has to be considered as "20 different countries", if it divided based on diversity. And probably many of the europian countries combined should be "1 country".
Means if the diversity quota is 100 per year, to call for proper diversity.....

A question about the FB spillover: according to your data, there are about 30000 FB visa spillover from last year. But does USCIS have to use up all of them? If the answer is yes, then the September VB will very likely be current. If the USCIS only need to use up the 147000 EB and use whatever portion of the FB spillover, then September VB may not move.
Though I appreciate all the analysis and the hardwork by several folks here to get to the numbers, I am thinking that we should not get carried away and set high expectations for ourselves and others. Your confidence levels are very high, but remember there are some assumptions in the calculations and we are dealing with govt agencies... just wanted all EB2s to hope for the best and prepare for the best...

*Company A has filled for my H1B Cancellation on June 20 but have visa stamped (valid till 2010).
* Company B has filed for my H1B Transfer.(Have upgraded to Premium processing)
* Have to enter canada on/before 4th Sept to validate canadian PR (will have to go to canada only for few days).
Q: Can I re-enter in the US from on a VISA(Valid till 2010) from company A + Approved I-797 from company B?
Your help will be appreciated!

Technically I can change my country of citizenship any number of times in my life (cannot, if struck like this GC limbo) or even religion but I cannot change my ethnicity even once because I'm born into it.
I agree Sri Lanka is a sovereign country but why did India poke its nose on the pre-1971 Pakistan and created a new country Bangladesh. Is there a different standard for different people with the Indian govt policies?
Even If I had not got the opportunity to come this great nation United States of America, land of free and country of brave, I would have done whatever I could in India to help the beleaguered Sri Lankan Tamils and protested against the policies of Govt of India toward this issue.
I�m upfront about showing my resentment towards my country of birth and I �don�t show false patriotism/nationalism towards India like other Pseudo-Nationalists, who internally betray India at any moment and ready to change their nationality at the next opportunity but externally portray that they are the guardian of India and it is their soul. I currently live in a country, where even burning the national flag is considered a form of protest, if someone thinks that expressing resentment to India or protesting against her policy is unpatriotic, grow up guys.
You can say whatever you want and judge me in your point of view, I�m not going to argue about it because you don�t live a life of a Indian Tamil with hands tied of being called a terrorist, when you support Sri Lankan Tamil cause, and you cannot understand the relationship we (Tamils from India) have with the Sri Lankan Tamils, besides the people (including small babies and even some in the womb), who are getting killed in Sri Lanka by the Sri Lankan government are not your kith and kin.

You don�t know me, and you don�t know what positive things me and my family has done and doing to the people of India, particularly to the farming community and you don�t know what I�m doing to rectifying issues (whatever I�m working on)�..you should be careful when making these kind of statements on person you don�t know anything about except one comment on this thread.
Eventhough from a humanitarian point of view, I feel UPA should work with Srilankan government to work out peace. However it is not because the people being killed are Tamilians , who speak the same language as people from my neighbouring state.
I feel sorry for all the civilians who got killed in Iraq, same way.
Now you can't wait to "relinquish" the citizenship of a country that didn't poke it's nose into the affairs of a different sovereign nation as soon as you get the citizenship of another country that is directly responsible for deaths and horrible conditions of scroes more people.
The only reason you are carrying a Indian passport is because it suits you for now. The only condition you are willing to ditch that is when you are sure of a better suited passport for you.
Now express your anger/sympathy or any other emotion but don't pose as if you are doing it for the betterment of world. You put the language people speak over the country one belongs to. Remember the pledge you took during schooling? It said all Indians are my brothers and sisters. If you want to be a world citizen, no issues. People like you are of no use to any country.
