I completely agree with DSLStart. We are paying Monthly Mortgages, property Tax and Insurance for Home. and contributing to Economy So Please include Current Homeowners also.
Current homeowners who are waiting for their GC MUST also be exempted from cap. This clause has to be there. Without having any gurantee of getting GC these folks have invested their savings in buying home even when the prices were high, WHY because they had real intent of making US their permanent home. So these people should too be exempted from EB cap.

All of them are needed for dependents. In case your dependent is not between 14 and 79, then no need for biometric fee.
I should have mentioned that I-765 and I-131 are optional documents - you are not required to apply for EAD and AP.
Also, the validity of photogaphs is 6 months, and that of the medical exam is 1 year.

First, please stop comparing companies in this thread at least because we are diverting from topic.
I am totally convinced with users like jetflyer, kondur_007 and others that �if it goes smooth then next will be EAD, then I-485 approvals�.
At least this is the time to think beyond boundaries (like EB-3, EB-2, working as FT, working with consulting company, states and countries), if not then don�t distract the efforts.
I agree. This is a bad step by USCIS but as someone mentioned AC21 was also a memo and was put into effect so I'm guessing this memo will do what it's meant to do - bad stuff:( for H1-Bs.

Buck up :) We all go through it. I never take it personally. I would definitely be happy if more and more members come forward and help, instead of "missing in action" when needed most.
We would be really happy if new members come up and take initiatives (i am now keeping my messages positive :) ) , more active members, more strength.
participation is contigeous, all we need is some self motivators and self starters to kindle the fire.
As a first step -people can
(1) Openly pledge support
(2) Contact their chapter leaders on their willingness to come forward
(3) Not get influenced by negative vibes
(4) Work towards reqruiting more volunteers.
Can we walk the talk?

:confused:My 485 was filed with me as Primary and my wife as derivative in July 2007 with PD of Nov'05 2003. My I-140 is approved
I have applied EAD/AP through this pending AOS, but neither me nor my wife are using EAD/AP since we are both maintaining H1B status.
My wife's parallel GC process - I-140 just got in EB2 - PD Jan 2005.
The Alient no on her application is the same that got assigned due to her pending AOS application .Her PD is current with Aug 2008 bulletine

2. You can not have more than 1-2 action items on IV per month. They are simply not doable. got into it, pulled off 3 weeks later. they refunded my investment w/o any issue. but yes never lost that persons contact who got friendly with me for this and we remain good family friends. so there are exceptions.
We also remained good friends with the people who left our group... you know why... because we had no other options as we had no other friends left outside Quixtar (which was Amway before 2001 and is again Amway since 2009)

According to Ombudsmn report a documentarily qualified applicant is an applicant with approved I-485. The ombudsman report is a must read; most of the threads will not pop up if everyone reads them.
In the same bulletin they use this defunition for Documentarily Qualified

Exactly, why is India never an option to go back? Our economy is booming. On July 2 after USCIS announcement, I was ready to go home, I had had enough of the USA.
Many years in US and all we have to show for it is 25 lb bag of immigration papers!! And struggling to maintain status!!
Exactly, why is India never an option to go back? Our economy is booming. On July 2 after USCIS announcement, I was ready to go home, I had had enough of the USA.
Many years in US and all we have to show for it is 25 lb bag of immigration papers!! And struggling to maintain status!!

Asking such things are not correct. Any how labor substitution is not happening much and individuals with real issues like kids going to the final years in school etc., are finaly deciding and trying to take this risk.

I did not mean sector. I was refering to his statement about people from one country monopolizing the visas.

Accepting regulations does not mean to prevent Indians to come here. I can tell many examples. There are many bodyshoppers get h1B and make the persons to sit on bench in India or USA. I know some persons come here 1 year after getting h1b. But many reputed companies those who are real need of people could not get H1b as Cap was reduced. Putting restrictions on on bodyshoppers will improve H1b usage and wastage can be eliminated. And will make h1b program legitimate.

We all know how media wants to make new so that they can get more hits on their webpages. Maybe is name randomly got selected and that is why he got grilled - we don't know what did he tell the officer which lead to all this. We all now know about "teachable" moment with the Harvard professor. The facts were not what they appeared initially.
Just because one pays his taxes to the IRS does not mean s/he cannot be audited - even if he is Bill Gates. IRS computer randomly selects people for audit - irrespective of their status in life.
It may be one of these occurrence - we will know with time and let's not speculate until then. Moreover he is an ordinary citizen without any diplomatic privileges. If you or me can be interrogated why can't he be. Every country has a right to protect itself and to set standards for it irrespective of the status of the individual.

How does the current company obtain a pre-approved labor? Does it buy the pre-app labour? Or is it SOLELY because someone in the company left (whose labor was approved)?
I was reading a lot about the controversy about why it should be stopped etc so i was wondering if someone had any documentation on why it was started in the first place and how it works
